The Submissions Process
- Standards for Evaluation of Names and Armory (SENA)
- The standards by which name and armory registrations are decided in the SCA. A necessary resource for consulting heralds.
- Laurel Letters of Acceptances and Returns (LoARs)
- The archive of decision letters by the Laurel, Pelican and Wreath Sovereigns of Arms.
- Online System of Commentary And Response (OSCAR)
- The online system by which Letters of Intent are posted for heraldic commentary. Letters can be read publicly, but reading or contributing commentary requires an account. Email Silver Buccle for more information.
- Laurel "No-Photocopy" List
- The list of sources for which submitters do not need to submit physical copies of documentation. If a source does not appear on this list, physical copies of documentation must accompany your submission.
Name Submission Resources
- The Academy of St. Gabriel's Medieval Names Archive
- The premiere collection of medieval name research articles, certainly within the purview of the SCA, and possible in the world.
- Table of Regional Naming Compatibility
- The current guidelines for what cultures can be combined in names, both by geography and time period. See also SENA PN.2, which gives details on temporal compatibility in names.
- How to Document a Name
- Suggestions for how to properly document a name before submitting it for registration in the SCA.
Armory Submission Resources
- SCA Armorial Search Forms
- Search forms for the SCA Armorial, the listing by registrant of all name and armory registrations in the SCA. Use these search forms to find registrations by name or blazon phrase.
- SCA Ordinary
- The SCA Ordinary, the listing by armorial category of all armory registrations in the SCA. Use this when checking a potential armory submission for conflict.
- The Academy of St. Gabriel's Medieval Armory Archive
- St. Gabriel's collection of medieval heraldry articles. Not as critical to the submission process, since armorial authenticity need not be documented, but invaluable for those looking to find examples of medieval heraldry from specific cultures.
